1. The game needs four (4) live players per table for the game to auto-start.
2. You should select a room and table depending on your choice of money stake and action time.
3. Once you have selected or join a table, you are already bounded by the Rules, Conditions, and Terms of the Site set forth by MahjongPals.
4. If you exit, you understand that you give up your chances of winning. On the other hand, joining the table means you are committed to completing the game. You cannot, in anyway, exit the game once it’s started.
5. If you get disconnected, simply re-log your account. The MahjongPals Artificial Intelligence System (MAIS) will hold your session up to fifteen (15) minutes to give you the chance to rejoin the game. Our game is optimized for broadband or faster dial-up access. You may lose your turn depending on how fast or slow you reconnect back to the game.
6. In case of disconnection or action time expires; The MAIS will discard the mahjong tile for you prompting other players to continue game play until mahjong win is achieved. On rare occasion, game may also end in a draw.
Specific Rules. 1. This version of Mahjong (MahjongPals) is played using the Hong Kong Rules set. This is the most common rule set used in Mahjong, also known as the old 13-tile rules. Hong Kong Simple rules use the basic 136 tile set, no bonus tiles. Hong Kong Bonus rules include the flowers and season’s tiles.
2. Winning Calculation: For Example; In the 30/45 stake, the player can lose 45 Chips (15 Chips x 3 = 45 Chips) for discarding the winning tile (meaning player pays 15 Chips for himself and also pays 15 Chips for the two (2) other losing players. This is one way to combat player collusion. In case of an opposing player, winning by self-pick, all three (3) losing players pays the winner 30 Chips each.
3. The potential loss per player does not exceed the table stake amount, however there are a various amounts of Chips you can win and lose depending on the outcome of the game.
4. In case of ADVANCE FANS & POINT SYSTEM; Once a game has finished each hand is given points (referred to as ‘Fans’). The more complicated a hand is, the more points are scored.
5. If you disconnect whilst you are playing, your hand will continue to play. Each time it is your turn you will be allotted the set time to make your move and if you have not been able to reconnect in this time the last tile selected from wall (the tile at the end of your tiles separated from the others) will be discarded. In the event that you could Chow, Pung, Kong or Win, whilst you are disconnected the default option is ‘pass’ and if you make no action the game will automatically pass. The game will continue until the end but you will not be able to win if you remain disconnected, as you cannot select the win option.
6. Time limits for a move to be made are shown in the lobby before you join the game. For example, if the action time is 20 sec, the player is given 20 seconds to choose or discard a tile. If 20 seconds have passed, the MahjongPals Artificial Intelligence System (MAIS) will automatically choose for you. (If you have the choice to Chow, Pung, Kong or Win the default is pass. On a normal turn the default option is to discard the last selected tile.)
